Certified Group Exercise & Personal Trainer

Looking for a new career?  Interested in changing lives of those around you?  How about a part-time career or to get paid to work out?  This program is designed to teach you everything you need to know to enter the health and fitness field as a group fitness instructor and/or personal trainer.  Our trainers are highly recognized in this field, with more than 20 years experience, and will provide you hands-on training to pass the national tests through AFAA.  The program is all-inclusive.  You may choose to complete both group fitness and personal training, or take one or the other. 

Lectures are once a week for 10 or 20 weeks.  $1,500 or $3,000 for both. 

All materials included in fee including National Certification Exams.

This class will be an introduction to both hand building techniques and wheel throwing techniques.  Students will be using both red and white low fire clay and glazes to make their pieces.  Students will create both functional and non-functional pieces such as a vase and a mug on the wheel and a bowl, a plate and a plaque using hand building.  Students will also be free to explore their own ideas for pieces as well.  Students with no experience in clay are welcome as well as students who have worked in clay before.

Class Size is limited to 10 people.  This class will meet every other Tuesday! 

Week 1(Feb. 9th):  Rules of the Road – Teaches fundamental concepts of investing and potential strategies to help build wealth.

Week 2(Feb. 23):  Ready or Not? Preparing for the Unexpected -- Shares tips on how to develop a proactive strategy for protection and preparing for the unexpected. Strategies include having an emergency fund, establish line of credit,  and review insurance/liability protection.

Week 3(Mar. 9):  Stocks: The Nuts and Bolts -- This presentation shares basic information to help investors evaluate how stocks may fit into an overall strategy.

Week 4(Mar. 23):  Focus on Fixed Income -- Explains the basics of fixed income investments, the seven characteristics of, the advantages of laddering and how fixed income may be part of your investment strategy.

Week 5(Apr 6):  An Investor's Tour of Mutual Funds -- A detailed look at the features, benefits and risks associated with mutual funds as well as a map to mutual fund selection.

Week 6(Apr 27):  Retirement by Design -- Discusses the need to define retirement goals, determine savings needed to reach those goals (using the rule of 25) and how to use the power of 3 (time/money/return) to reach those goals.

Week 7(May 11):  Tax-Free Investing – Overview of tax-advantaged investments such as muni bonds (muni/UIT/mutual funds), IRAs (traditional/Roth/401k/403b) and/or life insurance.

Week 8(May 25): Preparing Your Estate Plan -- Basic overview of estate planning -- account  registration, beneficiary designation,  will, trust, tax information, life insurance and TOD. (Note: Subject to an estate-planning attorney being present).
